Join Dr. Candace Harding PT, DPT, OCS, RYT200, PYT-c to learn more about your body structure, strengths, and weaknesses to sustain a regular yoga practice for years to come.  Did you know that you SHOULD be able to engage your core while maintaining your lumbar lordosis? What’s a “lumbar lordosis” you ask?  Do you ever constantly hear yoga teachers say, “engage your core to protect your spine.”? But you’re not sure why your spine needs protecting or how to engage your core….  If you’ve asked yourself any of these questions, this workshop is for you!

In this workshop we will:

• Review pertinent anatomy and the importance of segmental mobility
• Discuss proper muscle activation and debunk the “core” and learn what it Really is.
• Partner up for functional strength and mobility testing so that you can learn more about your own body
• Learn exercises to improve common strength and mobility deficits
• Learn 2 short flows to easily incorporate into your personal practice for improved spinal health

This workshop is for yoga practitioners of all experience levels.  No one ever regrets building their house on a strong foundation, and you can always get another house.  You will only ever have one body.

Participants will need a yoga mat and are encouraged to bring a notebook and pen.
